0

While the Asia cup beings on the 15th of September, India’s problems in regards to who to bat at number 4 in the ODI format are set to continue. Yes, there will be no Virat Kohli which has pretty much sealed KL Rahul’s position at number 3 irrespective of his form. Having said that who does Rohit Sharma play at 4? Here is a look at 3 players who might try and seal the deal for the ‘Men In Blue’ at number 4.

1. Ambati Rayadu

There is no doubt that the right-handed batsman from the Chennai Super Kings is most likely to grab that position. He was in great form for the ‘Yellow Army’ throughout the IPL. As a result, his name was also announced in the ODI squad which recently toured England. Unofrtaintrly for him though he failed the Yo-Yo test but would be eager to now prove a point.

2. Manish Pandey

The right-handed batsman might not have had the best of the IPL seasons but has been in great form ever since. While he made his International Debut 3 years ago, Pandey has never really managed to cement a place in the side. He recently scored tons of runs for India- A would be hungry to cash in if an opportunity arises.

3. Dinesh Karthik

If you overlook his form in the longest format of the game, Dinesh Karthik has been in sublime form as far as limited overs cricketer is concerned and it would give both Rayadu and Pandey a tough fight for the number 4 position.

India begins their Asia Cup campaign on the 18th of September against Hongkong before they take on arch-rivals Pakistan the very next day. We would love to know your opinion on this one. Who do you think should play at number 4 for India? Do let us know your opinion in the comments section below.
