The 19-year-old leg spinner is busy these days applying his trade for his Natwest T20 franchise Sussex and his fans in England are missing no opportunity to catch him live. His team, Sussex Sharks, recently set a date against Gloucestershire and while the former failed to defend a below-par 129, Khan like he so often does certainly did not fail to impress.
The young man from Afghanistan bowled 4 overs and gave away only 14 runs and also took 2 important wickets. Not only was he economical, but he also took wickets- Those figures are no joke in T20 cricket, especially if you’re playing in English Conditions. Post the game, he was given a standing ovation by the English crowd and to top it off around 80 Afghans literally mobbed the leg-spinner after the game.
Sussex might have lost the game but certainly enjoyed all the ‘Brand Equity’ Rashid got along with him. Post the match, the official Twitter handle of Sussex even posted a video of the entire incident and quoted that it might not have been there night, but Rashid Khan was certainly in high demand as more than 80 Afghans turned up to see their ‘Hero’ in action.
🇦🇫 Not our night tonight, but @rashidkhan_19 was in high demand!

Rashid had initially signed up with Sussex to take part in only the first half of the tournament but has now decided to play for the entire duration of the group stage. Ever since his fans certainly can’t stop doing double cart-wheels in their backyard. Having said that, there would still be a bit of disappointment as even if Sussex qualify for the next round, they will have to be without the services of the veteran from Afghanistan. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoyed this cric-craking video.
