The Royal Challengers Bangalore are having yet another forgetful outing to add to their tally in the Indian Premier League. Having said that, they finally won a few days ago against the Kings XI Punjab before losing to the Mumbai Indians which has given some ray of hope to Virat Kohli and his men.
Unfortautnely, that ‘Ray’ hardly means anything though and even the great Virat Kohli would know that deep within. It’s that time of the year when all RCB fans are out with their calculators trying to figure out how mathematically their team could make it to the playoffs. It’s hard to believe their plight in the IPL though owing to big names like Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers but they never said batsmen will win you games alone.
Having said that, it seemed like they did their homework though this time around by beefing up their bowling department but for some reason or the other have been unable to click as a unit. While our heart goes out to RCB- They always said- ‘Team Work Makes The Dream Work’ and RCB would certainly realise that the hard way.
Meanwhile, their captain Virat Kohli is under the scanner as he was slapped with a fine of Rs 12 Lakhs post their game against the Kings XI due to a slow over rate. If that happens once more, the fine would be doubled to Rs 24 Lakhs and if it happens twice, Virat Kohli will be banned from the IPL 2019.
While let’s hope it doesn’t get to that situation, over-rates bans are quite common in the IPL. While his chips are down, captains usually take more time to make sure to win at all costs but unfortunately, Kohli can’t afford that luxury anymore- No, not even in pressure situations and we will leave it to that.
